At school, the bank incident causes Kiyo to become popular with the students. On the way home, Kiyo and Zatch are attacked by Hosokawa and Reycom. Hosokawa reveals that he wants to use Zatch's powers for his own gain. In the midst of the battle, Kiyo is frozen to the ground. Hosokawa takes Kiyo's book but is unable to read it. Hosokawa grabs Zatch and attempts to fire a "Zaker" at Kiyo but nothing occurs. Kiyo realizes that only the people chosen to read the book are able to cast the spells. Zatch manages to retrieve the book and return it to Kiyo. Kiyo reads the second spell "Rashield" which summons an electric shield from the ground. The shield catches Reycom's icicles and reflects it back towards him. One of the reflected ice shards comes in contact with Reycom's book causing it to burn. When the book is burned into ashes, Reycom disappears along with it.

Ben has an encounter with a lake monster called the Krakken while swimming in a lake. A part of the summer vacation involves a fishing trip, where they charter Captain Shaw's boat for the trip. However, Shaw has seen the Krakken times before, and is obsessed with catching it. Ben, with Gwen's help, soon finds out that the creature is upset because Jonah Melville, a poacher in the disguise of an animal lover, is stealing the creature's eggs. After Ben retrieves the eggs, a close scene is shown with the Krakken cuddling her regained eggs in her nest.

The episode opens in the past, at the night of the grand opening of Mr. Smoothy. A Megawhatt appears and starts destroying things. 11 year old Ben Tennyson as Stinkfly then comes in and attempts to fight the Megawhatt, but it escapes outside. The Megawhatt absorbs some electricity and multiplies, prompting Ben to complain that he doesn't have any electrical aliens.

Ben suddenly remembers that he has Feedback and uses him to take all the power from the Megawhatts, with them all falling asleep. Ben says that he is in such a great mood, and claims nothing can get him down now. Grandpa Max and Gwen arrive and wrap them up in some of Ben's rubber blankets.  Max comments that it's a good thing Ben still needs them, prompting Ben to tell Gwen to not even think about it.
